Signs You Might Need Auto Repair in Green Bay, WI
Know When to Schedule an Inspection with a Certified Technician
Not every car issue is an emergency, but many are easy to miss until they turn serious. Here are common signs it’s time to bring your vehicle to Matthews Tire in Green Bay:
- Dashboard indicators: A glowing check engine, oil pressure, ABS or battery light means your vehicle’s systems are flagging a problem. A blinking check engine light usually requires immediate attention.
- Odd noises: Clicking, grinding, squealing or thudding sounds can mean different problems. It might be worn-out brakes or trouble with your suspension or drivetrain.
- Fluid spots or drips: Coolant puddles, oily patches or brake fluid under your car? Don’t ignore it—leaks can signal major issues and lead to costly repairs.
- Reduced acceleration or stalling: If your car hesitates, feels weak or suddenly shuts off, it could be a problem with fuel delivery, the ignition system or engine sensors.
- Brake warning signs: Feel a mushy brake pedal, hear screeching or notice it takes longer to stop? Get your braking system inspected promptly to avoid further wear—or worse, a safety risk.

“I brought my vehicle in for squeaky brakes and instead of fixing it and charging me, they actually told me that it didn't need repair! Instead of getting a few hundred bucks, they got a customer for life.”
— Paul Wisneski
